Your physical health really is about your food. The standard estimate these days is that health is 80% food and 20% exercise. This NYT article backs that up with some science: Debunking the Hunter-Gatherer Workout.
My experience is completely in line with this article. Two hour workouts are placed by ½ hour or less a day, I don’t run distance anymore, and I am stronger than ever at age 46 compared to my always hungry, ripped, lean, two hour workout self at age 28.
