I am rushing out the door, but want to get this link up: Real Food Summit. These talks are excellent. They are available for free for only 24 hours, so you have to listen each day – there are 5 days left. Chris Kresser’s talk yesterday was great, and Paul Chek’s talk today is a mindblower.
Here are some quick thoughts on Chris’s talk that I sent to a friend:
Yesterday’s talk by Chris Kresser regarding Fish and Omega 3 was fascinating. New research is showing that if the fish has higher selenium than mercury, the selenium binds to the mercury and hence the mercury isn’t available to be absorbed by your body. There are 3 major fish that are to be avoided and likely some lesser eaten species – their mercury is higher than their selenium. Swordfish is one of them and I can’t remember the rest – I didn’t eat any of them anyway. The FDA has a new list/ranking system. Need to track it down.
