Some friends and I got together for a food swap (Noelia’s brilliant and fun idea!) including:
- Fruit chutney (fermented)
- Ginger carrots (fermented)
- Sauerkraut
- Deer jerkey
- Elderberry syrup
- Kale chips
The time together, talking, inspiring, learning and having fun were fantastic and I am grateful for these food loving mamas. We would have one fermenting like crazy dad, too, but his schedule is too jammed. Maybe in the future he will join us.
We are already planning our next foods, and I am so glad. This is forcing me to think and cook bigger and we are experiencing all kinds of new flavors (and probiotics from the fermented foods). Yay!
Here is a picture of our fermented foods. Tonight we open and taste.
Have you checked out Pickl-It? They are a bit pricy, but one or two at a time is manageable. Makes lacto-fermentation much easier!
