I no longer bring broth to a full boil. I let it rise to a simmer and then simmer for eight to 24 hours. I rarely simmer over 16 hours. I also now cook it in a large covered Visions glass pot on the stove to reduce contaminants from the crock pot. The broth does not cook down much when using a Visions glass pot. - Bone Broth Part 3

My guess would be "accidentally squished smelly bug" - I don't know their names, but there are several with very strong smells. If you bump into them in flight or squish them, they release the smell on you and then it stays till it decomposes.

Plausible, but I don't think so. The smell was strongly from his underarm and it reappeared today when working out.
