Ok. This talk is so hard to describe. I don’t even know if I want to try - much. Read this article from Temple University: THE HEART IS NOT A PUMP: A REFUTATION OF THE PRESSURE PROPULSION PREMISE OF HEART FUNCTION. Here is Dr. Cowan’s take on it: The Heart Does Not Pump.
After reading the articles, I don’t have anything to add, except the below three points, which tie back to my previous blog post: WAP Conference – Heart Health with Dr. Tom Cowan, MD.
Here are the points:
-
Artherosclorosis compensates to keep blood pressure up because the blood pump (which is not the heart) is broken. Put another way, the tubes narrow in response to a bad pump.
-
How do you fix the pump? Eat more healthy fat and exercise more.
-
Muscles expand and relax into themselves. They do not have contractions.
