The dreaded kefir fruit smoothie (see Recipes).
For a long time it was a battle to get Colson to drink it. Sometimes they
weren’t sweet enough, but mostly it was a battle on principle (they really are
good!). Then I had an idea - turn Colson into an educator on the topic of
eating what he doesn’t like. The idea struck me on a particularly difficult
kefir smoothie morning.
Camera ham that Colson is, it took eleven takes to get a
video for the blog, but we did it, had a ball and his smoothie was gone! Since
that day he has done pretty well drinking his smoothie. The complaining is
gone, although the distracted wiggles of a six year old can derail him and drag
the process out. As an added bonus, Colson now easily tries new foods, and he
really does give them a fair shot.
Without further ado, here is Colson the “I don’t like it”
educator: Colson discusses
eating what he doesn't like.
If you are having a hard time getting your child to eat
something that is good for them, try making them a yucky food educator and see
what fun that will lead to.
That is so cute! I just tweeted it!
