I will start joining parties when there are at least ten of them, more or less equally strong, to choose from. This is a step in that direction, which makes me very happy!!! Yay!

Quick question - why are you opposed to CAM operating under the same regulations as everyone else?
Posted by: Lawrence | May 31, 2011 at 04:49 AM
Because the NC Medical Society and Big Pharma won't allow CAM the same opportunities at licensure/professionalism. Further, not all CAM needs to be licensed.

In addition, CAM is actively targeted by the Medicial Societies/Associations with th intent to limit CAM. CAM needs protection for attack.
I know that you don't agree with CAM, and I am not trying to convince you of anything - only answer your question. Just don't want to get into a debate, as it would prove pointless because neither of us will budge.

I'm always open to actual real evidence that something works - you do realize that if ever some kind of "alternative" medical treatment is proved to be effective, it becomes just regular old medicine, right?
For things like Homeopathy to work, several laws of physics need to be wrong.
Accupunture isn't ancient Chinese wisdom, it was developed by Chairman Mao during the Cultural Revolution in the 1960's, because they killed all of the regular doctors during the purges.
The whole reason the entire modern medical community and medical science came about was because all of the "traditional" folk remedies were found not to work. If "natural" was such a great thing, why was infant mortality so high before modern medical science?
If CAM can't live up to the same scrutiny as regular medicine - can't be proven by actual studies or produce evidence of efficacy (or even professional conduct) - I'd be very worried. I mean, supplement manufacturers - who you guys seem to love, don't even need to meet the same quality control standards as everyone else - what are they so afraid of?
