Yesterday
Ryan and I picked our 80th pound of strawberries. Colson went to a
friend’s house, as he was tired of strawberry picking. What is amazing about this
year’s strawberries is that Colson has eaten a ton of them and has had not had
an allergic reaction. The first time we picked I can’t even estimate how many
he ate. No red, splotchy skin for him this year. I wonder if he outgrew the
allergy or if the Gut and Psychology Syndrome Diet (GAPS) GAPS
Diet is responsible. We do know that GAPS caused Colson’s sneezy
allergies to drastically decline.
When
the gut is unhealthy, sneezy allergies, asthma, eczema, autism spectrum and
food allergies can result. The food allergies can be caused by leaky gut, where
food is not properly digested and leaks out of the gut, triggering an
autoimmune response. Food allergies are an autoimmune response. Repairing leaky
gut helps to keep food where it should be, in the gut, thus reducing autoimmune
problems.
