You choose how you will live
and how you will die.
I have come to that
realization through painstaking reflection about how hard it is to help people
understand that they can take control of their health and lead vibrant lives. People,
especially in America, have accepted a reality that they are supposed to have “decent”
health and energy until 40 and then the aches, pains and disease kicks in. Next
steps are to medicate and operate, followed by health decline into painful old
age (if you make it) and death. Other paradigms have risen as well. Childhood
disease (diabetes, cancer, autism spectrum, auto-immune) is growing and a new commonplace
reality of medicate the young has taken hold. Here is one more growing reality:
women are getting breast cancer younger and younger, and many are defeated by
it.
These “realities” make me
crazy. I had two fantastic conversations in the past two days with two very
different doctors. One is a complementary medicine doctor and one is an MD.
They aren’t that different, actually, as they are both promoting healing from
the same perspective. Food. I expressed to them my frustration about getting the
message out:
- You
are what you eat
- You
can choose to eat real food and heal yourself
- Your
body wants to heal if you give it the chance, and food is the foundation for healing
- You
are supposed to feel great, whether you are a child, 40, 60 or older
- Just
because you have a genetic predisposition doesn’t mean you will get the
disease. The choices you make very much determine whether or not the disease
gene is turned on, and in some cases You Can Turn It Off!
- Take
responsibility for your health and live with confidence
- There
is time to change
The points above form such a
great message, yet it so hard to convince people to hear it. Out of frustration
and anger I came up with the concept that “With every bite you eat, you choose
how you will live and how you will die.” It isn’t positive, which is what I
strive for, but it is true. Both doctors could relate and the MD encouraged me
to send that message out. Since I haven’t been as effective as I would like with
the softer message, what the heck…I might as well try the in your face reality
message.
Americans can accept the
reality of
- eating
processed, poisonous junk
- disease
- medication
and operation
- pain
and
- death
Or
they can reject it and create their own reality of
- eating
real food,
- healing
disease,
- increasing
energy, vibrancy and, fun and
- dying
after a life well lived
Which reality will you
choose?
