I had a follow-up ultrasound to better
understand my borderline Thermascan reading and what, if anything, I can do to
improve it. See Thermography/Thermal
Imaging to Assess Breast Health and Thermography
Update. Dr. Stocks is awesome and has my highest recommendation http://www.carolinathermascan.com/home.html.
He slowly and thoroughly explains everything in the ultrasound. It turns out
that I am fibrocystic, which can cause some additional blood vessel growth and
higher temperatures picked up by the Thermascan. These cysts are genetic and
there is nothing to do about them. I am totally healthy and he said to not
spend another minute thinking about the scan results. Hooray!
Cool guy that he is, Dr. Stocks asked if I had any questions. I said
“No, you pretty much took away any question I had by telling me that I am
healthy.” He asked if I was sure I had no more questions. I said “No, it is not
often that I am at a loss for anything to say, but I am now.” Then he sat back
and waited. I felt mounting pressure to come up with a question, as he seemed
in no hurry and happy to chat. How often do you experience that in a doctor’s
office?
Finally, it hit me. I am going to ask him what he eats. He pretty much eats
a Nourishing Traditions diet, minus the dairy. He eats no processed food. Then
he went on to discuss how people just don’t understand how their health is
related to the food that they eat, and how they can restore their health and
prevent illness by eating well. How cool is that!?! I knew he would be a neat
guy because he partners with Ken Morehead at Oriental Health Solutions www.orientalhealthsolutions.com,
but I am tickled and amazed to find an M.D. who “gets” the relationship of food
and health!
Dr. Stocks expressed frustration that he is unable to counsel people in
his surgical center because he has all of his M.D. work to do. That is when I
mentioned that I have begun a business helping people shop for and prepare
nourishing, healing food. Our partnership was struck, and he is going to refer
his patients so I can get them started.
Talk about a fun visit of surprises!
Oportunity meets preparation! What a great beginning and conclusion all at once. My heart lifts!
