I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a
fantastic one with some great friends and incredible food. Our friends all eat
similarly to us, but we all eat a bit differently as well. Along those lines, I
bought some organic ice cream for our friends and for Ryan. Ryan wanted a
traditional dessert that he loves, which is ice cream.
You may recall from a previous post that when we honed
our diets and removed sugar and unfermented dairy, we decided to treat
ourselves to some ice cream after six weeks of its absence. We were sick with
muscle spasms, headaches and an irregularly beating heart within an hour. Now
for the victory: Ryan had only a half a
cup of ice cream on Thanksgiving. Then he had a small bit more on Friday
and a bit more on Saturday. This is a relatively small amount by almost any ice
cream eater’s standards, especially Ryan’s.
What happened? He has painful sores in his mouth! We know conclusively that the ice cream caused the sores, as Ryan hasn’t eaten anything else out of the ordinary. Yet one more reminder of how bad sugar and/or unfermented dairy are for your health, even if they are organic.
